2023 Migrant Trips

Purpose:

The mission of the office of Migrant Education is to provide excellent leadership, technical assistance, and financial support to improve the educational opportunities and academic success of migrant children, youth, agricultural workers, fishers, and their families. The OME administers grant programs that provide academic and supportive services to the children of families who migrate to find work in the agriculture and fishing industries.

Migrant Parent Advisory Council

The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is made of migrant parents, school staff and community professionals who have a vested interest in the academic success of migrant students. The PAC members offer critical feedback and guidance regarding programs and services made available to migrant students through consultation opportunities during the PAC meetings.The PAC meetings are held throughout the academic year, August - May. Members determine meeting locations, and meeting dates/times.

El Consejo Asesor de Padres (Parent Advisory Council, PAC) se compone de padres migrantes, personal escolar y profesionales de la comunidad que tienen un interés personal en el éxito académico de los estudiantes migrantes. Los miembros del PAC ofrecen comentarios y orientación esenciales sobre los programas y servicios disponibles para los estudiantes migrantes a través de las oportunidades de consulta durante las reuniones del PAC. Las reuniones del PAC se celebran durante todo el año académico, desde agosto hasta mayo. Miembros determinar los lugares, horarios y fechas de las reuniones.
