The purpose of the Life Skills Program for Student Parents Program is to reduce the number of students who drop out of school due to pregnancy and/or parenthood and to recover young parents who are under the age of 21 years on the first day of September to the educational system. In addition, the Program is designed to help these students achieve academically and work toward graduation, access available community resources, to become knowledgeable in child development, parenting, and home management, and become productive citizens.Support services provided by the program are:
*Comprehensive Education Home Instruction (CEHI), that a student receives during the pregnancy prenatal and postpartum periods to help her adjust academically, mentally, and physically and stay in school.*counseling services, including the initial session when the students disclose the pregnancy*health services (including services from the school nurse)*transportation for the student, the student's child(ren), or both to school, child care facility*instruction(inside or outside the classroom) related to parenting knowledge and skills, including child development, home and family living,*child care for the student's child(ren)*case management and service coordination (assistance in obtaining services from government agencies and community services organizations).If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at 830-591-4981 or 830-591-2950 ex.1511 or at paviles5971@uvaldecisd.net
New Hope Daycare

New Hope Daycare Center is License by the State of Texas. Our Facility undergoes yearly Child-Care inspections, conducted by Licensing Staff Geniva Correa. Other yearly inspections include the City of Uvalde Fire Marshal Inspection as well as Uvalde County Department of Health Environmental Health Inspection of Child Care Facility. We participate with the Middle Rio Grande Texas Workforce and currently have a Four Star Status. Our Staff is CPR and First Aid Certified. They attend numerous workshops as required by the State of Texas as a requirement and also to improve their Roles as caregivers. Our Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Curriculum that we provide for our Infants and Toddlers is Fun Shine Express. Breakfast and Lunch are provided on a daily basis. UCISD Transportation is available for those students who are in need. Currently, our Center is following Covid–19 Guidelines issued by the CDC. We are taking every measure seriously to ensure all children and staff are safe.
