Degrees and Certifications:
I've wanted to teach since I was in the 2nd grade! When finishing my bachelor's degree, I came across a master's degree program for reading specialization. It intrigued me so much that I could not resist. Unexpectedly, I simultaneously found out about an upcoming class for certification in special education. I jumped on both. My first teaching job as a first grade teacher gave me the opportunity to build a solid foundation for the students I got to teach. I did, and still do, take my job responsibilities very seriously.
As I began my next teaching position, I felt just as blessed to be able to use my special education certification. I've always wanted to prevent anyone from 'falling into the cracks'. And now at DAEP, I'm once again blessed to be working in a capacity that allows me to incorporate all the love I have towards any student, in a restorative setting!
There is no accident about my career path, and I'm delighted to be fulfiling the expectations put before me. When I get to work each day, I literally want to inspire students to be inquisitive and learn about things they've never heard of. I don't think anyone should miss the chance to make the most of themselves and be as successful as they dream. All dreams have to start somewhere. My personal philosophy is, 'the more you know, the further you go'. We only limit ourselves........
