Uvalde CISD Coronavirus Advisory
Updates from the UCISD Superintendent:
Friday, April 24, 2020
Dear Uvalde CISD Staff & Parents,
I hope you, your family, and your loved ones are staying healthy. It is comforting to share there have not been any new COVID-19 cases or changes to announce. As we move forward with our school year, I would like to encourage students, parents, and teachers to continue to build relationships in our new online learning environment.
Class of 2020, TEA Commissioner Mike Morath is working with public health specialists and a superintendent task force to identify the circumstances under which an in-person graduation ceremony may occur. Guidelines for in-person graduation ceremonies will be made available as soon as possible. Please take comfort in knowing we have not lost sight of this special occasion and will hold a commencement ceremony to the degree we are able.
Our district will continue to provide Meal Kits to the children in our community. Parents can pick up meal kits on Tuesday, April 28th from 7:00 am - 2:00 pm at the same three locations, including Uvalde High School, Robb Elementary, and Batesville Elementary.
We want to remind you that the Uvalde CISD Central Office building is closed. You can still reach us by calling 830-278-6655 and leaving a detailed message. Our employees are working from home and will direct your message to the appropriate individual.
Thank you for continuing to partner with us as we work through this unusual situation. Please continue to check the district website for updates. The fact that we continue to rise to the COVID-19 challenges is a testament to our dedication to our students. I truly appreciate your patience and partnership. Please stay home, be safe, and take care of yourselves.
I Believe in ‘U’!
