Matthew Newbury

Matthew serves as the Department Head for Special Education at Uvalde High School. He is also the Special Education Model Co-teacher for UHS and a Social Studies/SPED Teacher, teaching six classes per day (including: Basic Social Studies, Special Topics in Social Studies, Government and Economics). Matthew is a Senior Class Sponsor and participates often in school activities. Matthew graduated from Hondo High School in 1999 and has had positions in several large companies in the private sector, including: USAA and the Schlumberger Technology Corporation. Matthew served in the United States Army Infantry from 2005-2007, having received an Honorable Discharge in 2007. Matthew has a beautiful two yr old son named Asher Jacob.
