OFFICIAL: UCISD School Closure Announcement for 1/26/26.
Due to an Extreme Cold Warning issued by the National Weather Service, UCISD will cancel school on Monday, January 26, 2026. Our priority is the safety of our students, staff, and school community, and we aim to prevent any risks associated with travel and outdoor exposure during these conditions.
Commitment to Education: While education remains vital, the well-being of our school community takes precedence. We encourage all families to prioritize safety and take necessary precautions during this inclement weather.
Tuesday School Schedule:We will continue to monitor weather conditions and assess roads to ensure safe travel. If some routes are inaccessible, we will explore alternative safe bus routes.
UCISD Inclement Weather Protocols
Inclement weather can impact Uvalde CISD and compromise the safety of students and staff. We make our decision to open or close schools in bad weather based on careful analysis of as many relevant factors as we can gather.
UCISD Standard Response Protocol
When there is an issue on your child’s campus, UCISD uses the Standard Response Protocol developed by the Texas State School Safety Center to let parents, teachers, students, and staff quickly understand what’s going on and how to respond.
UCISD Standard Reunification Method
Circumstances may occur at the school that requires parents to pick up their students in a formalized, controlled release. This process is called a Reunification and may be necessary due to weather, a power outage, hazmat, or if a crisis occurs at the school.
