Calling All Families with Pre-K Aged Children
Calling All Families with Pre-K Aged Children
To Our Uvalde School Community Families,
We are excited to invite all families with children eligible for Prekindergarten (Pre-K) for the 2025 school year! In Texas, children who are 4 years old by September 1st of the current school year and meet at least one of the specified criteria are eligible for free Pre-K. This is a fantastic opportunity to jumpstart your child's educational journey with us.
Your child may qualify for free Pre-K if they meet any of the following criteria:
- Unable to speak and comprehend the English language.
- Educationally disadvantaged, eligible to participate in the national school lunch program. (Guidelines are available in sections 4 and 6 of the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Administrators Reference Manual.)
- Homeless, as defined by federal law.
- A child of an active duty member of the United States Armed Forces.
- In or has been in foster care through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services or in another state.
- A child of a recipient of the Star of Texas Award as a peace officer, firefighter, or emergency medical first responder.
To verify your child's eligibility and begin enrollment, please complete the PreK Roundup 2025 form using the following link:
