Norma Hill-Garcia

Mrs. Norma Hill-Garcia joins Uvalde High School along with a wealth of knowledge and experience in curriculum and instruction attained through her service in Uvalde CISD.  She is a Uvalde native and Class of 1987 Alum and proud to be a LOBO. 

Prior to serving as UHS campus administrator, Hill-Garcia served 12 years in education. She began her career in education as a crossing guard, paraprofessional and kindergarten teacher. Hill-Garcia also taught Adult education; ESL at Southwest Texas Junior College.   When she returned to her hometown of Uvalde, she taught Bilingual Education at Benson Elementary. She was named Teacher of The Year in 2005 and she also served as lead teacher during her tenure. Mrs. Hill-Garcia’s role then changed again as she was both a Kindergarten teacher and an Instructional Coach in Batesville Elementary.  She then again served as an Instructional Coach for Anthon Elementary for another five years. Mrs. Hill-Garcia then took on the challenge of serving as a CTE Education Teacher at Uvalde High School while taking on the position of Girls J.V  Volleyball, Basketball and Track coach at Uvalde High School. 

Mrs. Hill-Garcia was an Elementary Bilingual teacher, served as an Instructional Coach, taught High School CTE, and coached volleyball, basketball and track. 

 “I am very proud to be back home and serving my community.  I hope to inspire our students and promise to treat and respect every student. I will continue to share all my knowledge and experiences with our students, staff, and parents to ensure that we all are successful in our journey together.  I strongly believe that given the opportunity and the guidance, every and all students can be successful”,said Norma Hill-Garcia. 

Mrs. Hill-Garcia received her bachelors of Arts and received her Master of Education from Sulross Rio Grande in Uvalde, TX.
