Culinary Arts Teacher

I have been teaching for 16 years. I graduated from Schreiner Univerity with a Bachelor's in Biology and a Master's of Education in Teaching. I grew up in Kerrville most of my life. I graduated high school from Tivy and after going to college I taught my first 2 years of teaching biology at Tivy High School (Go Antlers! TFND!). After teaching at Tivy I taught biology and other life sciences for 7 years at Taft High School in Taft, Texas. I took a 4-year hiatus to stay home with my 2 youngest children. When I decided to start teaching again I took a job teaching in Freer, TX...close to Laredo. I was there for 3 years. I taught Aquatics, Anatomy & physiology, and some family consumer sciences for the first 2 years. My last year at Freer high school I was a special education inclusion teacher. After much deliberation, my family decided it was time to move closer to family. Since my husband is from Uvalde it made sense to move here. I am the new Culinary Arts teacher at Uvalde High School. While I am a tad nervous, I am super excited about this new chapter of my life. I can't wait to meet you all and get to know you. We are going to have a great year!
