Duke University Talent Identification Program’s 7th Grade Talent Search

Board Recognitions




Uvalde CISD is honored and excited to announce eight Flores Middle School students have been accepted into the Duke University Talent Identification Program. Duke Talent Identification Program is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving academically gifted and talented students. Eligibility for participation in the talent search is an honor requiring exceptional academic ability and we applaud these students’ achievements.

State Recognition Ceremony

Of the eight students four are invited to attend a State Recognition Ceremony. These students qualified by scoring approximately at or above the national average of recent high school graduates on at least one part of the ACT. This ceremony brings families together to celebrate the students’ exceptional performance.

Duke Talent Identification Program Academy for Summer Studies

Of the eight students five are invited to attend the Duke Talent Identification Program Academy for Summer Studies. This Academy offers an exceptional academic and social experience for these students who are among the top 5 percent of academically talented students in their grade level.

Of the eight students three are invited to attend the Duke Talent Identification Program Center for Summer Studies. These students qualified to attend the Center for Summer Studies by representing the highest-scoring students in Duke TIP’s 7th Grade Talent Search.
