Texas 21st Century Community Learning Center Project Director

Title:Texas 21st Century Community Learning Center Project Director
Location:Central Office

The Project Director for the program is responsible to fulfill the grant requirements which include providing: (1) safe environments for children to learn after school, (2) quality academic activities to address student needs while working closely with the Site Supervisors and program teachers (3) programs such as dance, cheer, karate, art, music, etc. that inspire and provide enrichment for the afterschool program, (4) work closely with regular day program teachers to provide targeted assistance using regular communication and feedback loops, (5) work closely with the Family Engagement Specialist and all partners to serve Uvalde families with literacy and college-readiness programs, (6) guidance and feedback to program teachers and (7) work closely with the external evaluators while keeping required data and submit upon request.

  •        Experience in afterschool programming

Special Knowledge/Skills:

1.              Direct programs and services to meet students’ needs.

2.              Plan, implement, and evaluate programs with teachers and principals, including learning objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques.

3.              Apply research and data to improve learning opportunities for students.

4.              Work with appropriate staff to develop, maintain, and revise programs based on systematic review and analysis.

5.              Involve staff in evaluating and selecting materials to meet student needs.

6.              Plan the necessary time, resources, and materials to support accomplishment of program goals.

7.              Ensure that grant goals and objectives are developed using collaborative processes and problem-solving techniques when appropriate.

8.              Secure outside resources and community resources in accordance to the grant.

9.              Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in accordance with the grant.

10.           Compile, maintain, and present all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required in accordance to grant specifications.
