Description:The Lead Family Specialist will build communication with parents, guardians, staff and community in order to assist
at risk students who are experiencing barriers to success, and build parent capacity to participate effectively
in their student's education.  Performs casework service to help students resolve personal, emotional, and 
social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their ability to enjoy the benefits of the
educational process.

Requirements:Education/Certification: 
  • Master’s degree in counseling from an accredited college or university 
  • Valid Texas license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor
     granted by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners or the Texas State Board of
     Examiners of Professional Counselors

Duties: 
  • Weekly meetings with Family Specialist
  • Collect monthly reports regarding clients/groups
  • Facilitate Parent Conferences
  • Meet with Principals to review caseloads on a monthly basis
  • Coordinate District's Mental Health Services
  • Coordinate parent trainings/parent liaisons 
Experience: 
  • Minimum three (3) years experience providing mental health services to student
    or adolescents.
Start Date:August 2018
Salary:Commensurate upon experience + Extended days + $1,600 stipend
