Instructional Interventionist (Math/Reading)

Title:Instructional Interventionist (Math/Reading)    
Location:Curriculum/Assigned Campus    
Description:
Under the direction of the campus Principal and the Director of School Improvement, the Academic Interventionist will work with small groups of children identified as at-risk in Reading and math.  The Academic Interventionist will also work closely with the building administration and faculty, as well as parents, to ensure student learning.  85% of time is designated for providing direct services to struggling students; 15% of time will be used for data disaggregation and for working closely with the building administration and faculty, as well as parents, to ensure student learning.
Requirements:Education/Certification: 
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Education
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate 
  • Minimum five (5) years successful teaching experience
  • SIOP and ELPS trained
  • Ability to speak Spanish and ESL Certification (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills: 
  • Proven track record of success
  • Strong communication skills
  • Learning needs of various student population
  • Curriculum and instructional practices, research and methodologies related to the essential elements of interventions and comprehensive programs and skills
Experience: 
  • Minimum 5 years Teaching Experience
Start Date:2016-2017 School Year
Salary:Commensurate upon experience
