Title:Instructional Interventionist (Math/Reading)
Description:Under the direction of the campus Principal and the Director of School Improvement, The Academic Interventionist will work with small groups of children identified as at-risk in Reading and Math. The Academic Interventionist will also work closely with the building administration and faculty, as well as parents, to ensure student learning. 85% of time is designated for providing direct services to struggling students; 15% of time will be used serving as the campus Response to Intervention facilitator.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Education) 
  • Valid teaching certificate 
  • SIOP and ELPS trained 
  • Ability to speak Spanish and ESL Certification (preferred) 
Special Knowledge/Skills: 
  • Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Experience with curriculum design, planning and instruction 
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) 
  • Learning needs of various student populations 
  • Models of intervention delivery including: individual, small group, push-in 
  • Curriculum and instructional practices, research and methodologies related to the essential elements of interventions and comprehensive programs and skills 
  • Standardized and performance-based assessment practices and how to interpret results 
  • Record-keeping and report preparation techniques 
  • Plan and organize work 
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills 
  • Prepare and deliver presentations 
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
  • Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience
