Title:Gifted & Talented Itinerant Campus Teacher
Location:Central Office
Description:To provide expertise, leadership, direction, creation, supervision and evaluation to the Gifted and Talented pilot programs for elementary campuses; to serve as the advocate and District liaison for gifted and talented programs with the principals, administrators, teachers, students, parents and community members. This includes the design, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and support of a variety of instructional lessons and higher-order thinking strategies. To provide educational experiences in and out of school that address the needs of the district's Gifted and Talented students from kindergarten through fifth grade, thereby providing the framework for moving programs toward the achievement of exemplary status.

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Elementary Teaching Certificate
  • GT Foundational Hours Training
  • Gifted & Talented Endorsement or Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills: 
  • Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in special field. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. 
  • Knowledge of Gifted and Talented, GT certification and compliance requirements 
  • Knowledge of TEKS Standards and 21st Century Skills 
  • Knowledge of appropriate identification of GT students, furloughs and exit processes. 
  • Excellent presentation skills, interpersonal skills, organization and managerial skills, data interpretation knowledge and proficient technology skills 
  • Minimum five (5) years gifted & talented education experience
  • Minimum five (5) years teaching experience
