Thank you for considering employment with the Uvalde CISD. All job openings are posted on the UCISD website. Please do not randomly call the HR Department to see if there are any positions open.
Here is a description of the internal employment procedures used by the Uvalde CISD. Each campus or Central Office administrator has appropriate access to online employment applications. They will review the applications that are relevant to their open positions. Based upon their review, they will choose which applicants they want to interview. The administrator will contact you if you are chosen. Not all applicants will be interviewed. The administrator will then recommend their choice to the Director of Personnel. If the Director of Personnel accepts the recommendation, then he will in turn recommend employment of the applicant to the Board of Trustees at their next scheduled meeting. Until approved by the Board of Trustees, the applicant has no legal or contractual right to employment with the Uvalde CISD. Final employment for a teacher is contingent upon the teacher meeting the requirements of the Texas Education Agency. Final employment of all candidates is contingent upon a successful criminal history clearance and finger printing.
Here are some frequently asked questions that will help you with the application process and procedures:
1. Question: I need help with the online application system. Whom do I call for assistance? Answer: Contact Lucy Olvedo @ 830-278-6655 or you may email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
Remember: You must attach your college transcripts to your application.
2. Question: I am not sure whether I am highly qualified or certified for the position that is posted. Whom do I call for assistance with my qualifications? Answer: Contact Lucy Olvedo at 830-278-6655 or email@example.com.
3. Question: I am interested in a particular position. May I contact the administrator in charge of the position to introduce myself? Answer: There are no prohibitions to doing so. However, please do not call the administrator to set up a random interview. If they are interested in you as an applicant, they will contact you for an interview.
4. Question: Why does the Uvalde CISD handle its hiring procedures this way – meaning why doesn’t the HR Department conduct interviews and make the recommendations for hire? Answer: The campus or Central Office administrator is directly responsible for the performance of their hires. Therefore, it is important that they conduct the interviews and make the initial recommendations.
