2017-2018 Open Enrollment for TRS ActiveCare

TRS Active Care Annual Enrollment is now open!

Annual enrollment for TRS Active Care Insurance is underway. The plan year will
be effective 9/1/2017. (1st premium will be deducted from your August payroll)
TRS will have a passive enrollment this year. What that means for current
employees, is that unless you will be: enrolling for the first time, dropping/adding
a dependent or moving from one plan option to another, there is nothing you will
have to do. You will remain on the same plan and will NOT receive new cards.
If you will be making changes, Aetna has created an on-line tool that will be very
helpful in helping you make an informed choice on your health plan.

Below are some very important notes:

  • If you are enrolling in TRS Select Plan, AND you live in San Antonio, you AND your dependents (college students!) have different guidelines to follow. Contact Cynthia Robles for more information.
  • There are two computers in the reception area of Central Office for your use.  (Please take note of our Summer Hours. M-TH 7:00 – 5:30) 

ALEX is an online tool you can use to learn more about TRS-ActiveCare plan options available. ALEX collects some simple
information and walks you through benefits, features and costs – without all the insurance jargon.

ALEX can:
            Help you understand and compare plan options
            Explain health benefits terms
            Show you how different plan features work – deductibles, coinsurance, out-of- pocket maximums
            Walk you through estimating tax savings with a health savings account (if you are considering the
               ActiveCare 1-HD plan)

ALEX will summarize his recommendations on your own personal benefits web page. Just click the link to restart the
